Technovative Applications is a small U.S. Defense Contractor in Brea, California. The company develops and produces fire control systems, radar interferometers, radar subsystems, and miniaturized communications transceivers for U.S. military applications.

Responsibilities will include developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the design, manufacture, integration and test of various mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and sub-systems. Responsibilities will include preparing technical justification analysis reports as well as presentations to a variety of Engineering Review Boards relative to hardware dispositions and proposed technical data package updates.


Tasks include:

  • Develop creative mechanical design solutions for electronic packages using current CAD design tools.
  • Utilize thermal design practices to develop mechanical solutions and appropriate materials for thermal environments.
  • Utilize structural design practices to develop mechanical solutions and appropriate materials for environments that include shock and vibration loads.
  • Validate mechanical and electro-mechanical designs with prototyping and testing
  • Develop and maintain mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, operations, contract services, customer)

Minimum Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Minimum BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Capabilities to design and analyze small to large precision mechanical assemblies and structures
  • Capabilities to design and analyze cooling solutions for removal of electronic subsystem heat loads from a few watts to more than 100 KW
  • Knowledge of materials (metal and non-metal)
  • Knowledge of machining and tool design a plus
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
  • Hands-on assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical subsystems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint tools
  • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance
